Description

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon Chronograph 25977ST.OO.D002CR.01
Audemars Piguet is a brand belonging to the Holy Trinity of high horology, and one of the most influential in the history of the industry. The release of Audemars Piguet's first truly luxurious sports watch, the AP Royal Oak, in 1972 set a new trend among the most respected manufacturers on the market. Thanks to its distinctive styling and the reputation it quickly gained, it became one of the most desirable models of its era, remaining an unrivaled example of class and luxury for decades to come. The history and achievements of AP make this brand irresistible to any enthusiast or collector.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was the first truly luxurious sports watch. Designed by the legendary Gerald Gente, it became a viable response to the market-shaping quartz-powered watches. Introduced in 1972, it proved a resounding success. The revolutionary integrated bracelet and unique octagonal bezel with visible screws created the perfect bridge between sporty appeal and the elegance ingrained in the brand's history. Interestingly, despite its steel construction, it outperformed most of the gold-plated watches in the company's and its competitors' offerings. Over the years, the model has gradually evolved, constantly approaching perfection while remaining faithful to its original design principles. Thanks to this approach, everyone can find a Royal Oak in the current Audemars Piguet range that perfectly suits their preferences.
Continuing the expansion of the Royal Oak collection, Audemars Piguet introduced reference 25977, a tourbillon chronograph that debuted in 2003 and was produced in very limited quantities until 2013.
This Royal Oak Tourbillon Chronograph is impressive in every respect, from its imposing 44mm stainless steel case to the complex movements it houses. The reference 25977ST became an instant object of desire for Audemars Piguet enthusiasts, technically combining two of the most prized and sought-after complications in watchmaking: the chronograph and the tourbillon.
Two versions of this model were created: one with a monochromatic black dial and a blue dial with red chronograph accents, and a blue Super Luginova version. Powered by the manually wound caliber 2889, beating at a frequency of 21,600 bph, this colossus offers up to 72 hours of operation. It is highly prized by collectors and a pleasure to wear on the wrist, especially with its visible tourbillon. Our example dates back to 2004 and is in impeccable condition, sure to captivate any enthusiast.
